There are many issues that councils will address when it comes to increasing smokefree environments. The key driver or issue for the Cancer Society is to assist all councils, iwi etc... to adopt a smokefree outdoor areas policy to protect children against the exposure of smoking and to denormalise smoking as a behaviour. Smokefree outdoor areas are all about protecting children and young people.
